Writer Hanna Rossin recently wrote an article on Slate about the shift happening in American families where wives are earning more than husbands. Rossin remarks, “Researchers have recently begun scrutinizing a new kind of family ruled by “breadwinner wives” or “top income wives,” defined as women who make more money than their husbands. About 22 percent of American marriages of people over 30 fall into this category, up from 4 percent in 1970.”
As a follow-up to her article, Rossin is gathering more data on this new dynamic and needs input. If you are a primary-breadwinner wife, or are married to one, she is looking for your feedback. Even if you are not married, but in a relationship where the woman earns more than the man, she wants to hear from you.
