Every month, tens of thousands of our customers use our Facebook app to help socialize their surveys. It’s a really great way to get your customers, group members, or friends to take your survey in a fast, convenient environment by embedding your survey directly into your Facebook Brand Page.
Recently Facebook updated how both Brand Pages and apps work. Now all Pages use the timeline interface, and apps no longer have their own Page by default. This change poses great opportunities for your brand, but adding the app in the new format, and highlighting it on your page, may take a bit of getting used to. It was with you and your brand in mind that we recently updated our Facebook app to make the process easier (and to make it simpler to encourage your fans to take your survey!).
Deploy Your Survey Within Facebook
First, we now have a new way of adding our app. Simply go to our app page, and we will walk you through the process. Don’t forget, you will need a SurveyMonkey account to deploy surveys in Facebook, so if you haven’t already, head to SurveyMonkey and create a free account.
Secondly, we have increased the app size to now be 810 pixels wide. Your surveys have never looked better on Facebook! See for yourself with the Monkey Question of the Week survey we are running on our own fan page.
How to Highlight the SurveyMonkey Facebook App
Now, we also have instructions for how to include your survey app as one of your “top apps” on your Timeline. To do so, first go to the page you are an admin of, and scroll to where the apps sit — underneath your cover photo. Expand them by clicking the arrow to the right of your apps, and you will see a small pencil icon appear above each app when you hover over them. Clicking this pencil will allow you to swap any app’s position with one that already sits in a top position (we suggest swapping it with the “likes” app, which provides little added value to your brand) so it always appears at the top of your timeline.
You can also direct link to your survey tab, and post about it on your wall. By pinning it to the top of your wall, you will increase the chance people will see it.
